It’s official. After nearly six months of secrecy it is our great pleasure to introduce you to Talk Shop Media. Now, we could ramble on and tell you all the things that make us “fresh”, “exciting” and “different”. But we are in the business of PR, and we’d rather “walk our talk” and will leave those adjectives up to you to decide. Instead, we’d like to share the story behind Talk Shop and how we came to be.
After more than three years of dominating the PR landscape as two competing firms Spark and Pereira PR, founders Beth, Katie and Sara wound up at a lunch together on a cold February afternoon. After some conversation (and a little wine) the subject of growth was inevitably discussed. Each company had grown close to two hundred percent in size since its inception. Both Spark and Pereira were continuing to add clients and expand their teams at a rapid pace, and it was only a matter of time before each would compete with the other.
Pereira PR had honed a reputation for dominating the landscape with effective PR, events and experiential campaigns. And in the franchise and real estate sectors Spark had earned a reputation as an experienced, results driven team on both sides of the border. In short both companies were soaring in very different business verticals. And so the idea was floated- “can you imagine what we could do if we combined our effort?”
As it turned out, that idea of joining forces was too good to pass up. After several months of planning, logistics, legal and financial discussions the merger was complete. Aside from the incredible melding of teams (an impressively positive experience). Clients of both Spark and Pereira PR were treated to a PR team that not only doubled in size. It also increased media coverage, offered a new bredth of experience and service and when it was all said and done, not a single client paid a penny more.
